Taught and managed by D.j. Sims of Silver Stables, but using Summerwind Marchador horses mostly. This year a few people brought up their horses up for camp too! It was a full month of three-day events with kids that were experienced riders and kids that sometimes had little or no experience. We had one group from Arizona, and the others were “locals” – either vacationing or living here in Pagosa Springs.
Marchador horses and kids go together!
Thanks to D.j. and Elizabeth Sims for the time and effort into planning, driving, teaching and doing all the other activities that went into another success.
Here are some photos from the camps! The horses and the kids were awesome!!! Summerwind Marchadors used were Artemis do Summerwind, Caboclo da Piedade, Caesar do Summerwind, Hawke do Summerwind, Koyote Libertas. Joining us from Arizona were Fidalgo do Summerwind, Sabela da Tranquility, and Topsy, a very cute pony.
Predicted to be a filly, but she is a he! We got back just in time from Colorado to be there. We are so delighted with our newest foal! He has lots of prescence, very bold and confident little one! I am always amazed that their personality is so apparent on day 1! Very nice marcha, smooth and flashy with high knee action.
Truly one of a kind! Kharisma do Summerwind is the chosen name! Watch for him.
Have fun watching the video of his first time out!
Hawke do Summerwind is our junior stallion and this is his first foal crop in 2016. A sweet and personable pocket pony, he is also wonderfully gaited. He is the product of imported Marchador mare, Azenha de Maripa and frozen semen from Brazilian stallion Ximoio de Maripa, a son of Abaiba Nissei.
One measure of greatness is Brasil’s ELITE book – a registry of National Champion Marchadors who also produced National Champions. Parents and grandparents that are ELITE champions matter the most.
