Brazilian Breeder Visit – Welcome Haras Avena!

A business and touring visit, Summerwind Marchadors and Future Foal breeders will present their Mangalarga Marchador horses during a traveling barn tour for Carlos Avena from Haras Avena, BR.

Summerwind and Future Foal plan to import this stallion frozen semen in 2016/2017. For those breeders who want to love tobiano horses, we heard you! More tobiano genetics are needed to cross with the few tobiano Marchadors here in the U.S.

We seek to import frozen semen from superior and championship level Marchador stallion semen to build genetic diversity and improve future generations of Marchador horses here in North America. All of our selected Marchador stallions are proven producers in Brazil.

The barn tours are open to the public! Please come to meet a Marchador!

Welcome Future Foal @ Silver Stables!

Our newest “Future Foal do Summerwind” breeders are Elizabeth and D.J. Sims of Phoenix AZ. They own and operate Silver Stables which focuses on training and lessons for children. Their program teaches students how to be all-around hors A photo of an woman riding english on her horse. emen in a fun, friendly, safe and affordable environment. And now they are Marchador breeders as well!

Elizabeth and D.J. met the Marchador breed during an equine class assignment at Scottsdale Community College. It took very little time after that visit for them to jump into the action as they reserved Isabelle do Great Lakes Future Foal about a month later. That foal became the now-famous tobiano stud colt Jedi-Knight do Summerwind, born October 2015.

D.J. co-owns Gralha M.U.G., exquisite imported Marchador mare (shown above in the photos). In 2015, we bred Gralha with Hawke do Summerwind and they will own the resulting October 2016 foal. So they are growing fast!

Elizabeth and D.J. plan to keep Jedi-Knight do Summerwind a stallion and so, he will be standing at stud starting in 2019. Right now he is the only tobiano Marchador stallion in the U.S.! And the grandson of Palhaco de Itatuvera, one of the most influential stallions in the Marchador breed today in Brazil.

At Silver Stables is also another Marchador gelding being used in their lesson program – our wonderful and sweet Seamus da Boa Fe. We miss him every day, but think this is a good life for him with all of the kids and attention. I truly believe that he loves being painted at summer camp!

Birth Announcement! Kharisma do Summerwind is here!

Hawke do Summerwind x Gralha MUG.

Predicted to be a filly, but she is a he! We got back just in time from Colorado to be there. We are so delighted with our newest foal! He has lots of prescence, very bold and confident little one! I am always amazed that their personality is so apparent on day 1! Very nice marcha, smooth and flashy with high knee action.

Truly one of a kind! Kharisma do Summerwind is the chosen name! Watch for him.

Jedi-Knight born October 11!

We had a big crowd welcoming Jedi-Knight into the world on Sunday night! At least 10 people hanging over the stall!

Maiden mare Isabelle do Great Lakes was superb! What a good mother she is! Nicknamed Izzy, she is owned by Karen Ann Livesay, Future Foal @ Sedona. And the surprise package is a pinto colt! He is reserved by Elizabeth and D.J. Sims also in AZ, who will become Marchador breeders! The whole atmosphere was charged with excitement and awe.

Jedi’s sire is Brazilian Marchador stallion Talisma Kafe, a black and white pinto, using imported frozen semen.
