Welcome to the Q babies!

The first to arrive came on Valentine’s Day and the night after! Meet Qiara and Qupid do Summerwind!

Born to Azenha de Maripa (x Jedi-Knight do Summerwind) and Azenha’s daughter Leia do Summerwind (x Violeiro do Riomar).

Both babies are reserved – one staying in AZ and one headed for CA eventually. Many Summerwind foals stay with us for a period of time after weaning for training and inspection.

We are looking forward to 4 more Q babies in 2022! The next are due to arrive in April!

Summerwind provides the first ABCCMM inspection for the foals where the foals prove parentage, are checked by a Brazilian inspector for genetic defects and microchipped. The foals that pass are eligible for the definitive inspection at age 3 and older which is under saddle.

Welcome to Baby P!

Our surprise September 6 package, a few weeks early, was Astrud’s filly! Mom and baby doing fine! Named Paloma do Summerwind, our barbie doll girl is sired by Violeiro do Riomar, a National Champion Marchador in Brazil.

Meet the new SW “O” Foals!

It’s an “O” year as we go through the alphabet.

Obi and Olivia do Summerwind join the SW herd. They are both staying with Summerwind — OBI with owners D.j. Sims and Elizabeth Sims in Arizona and OLIVIA with owners Cathy and Randy Pierce in Texas.

Born March 22, 2020.

Obi is an all black colt sired by Jedi-Knight do Summerwind x Gralha M.U.G.

Brazilian Breeders Weekend Jan 26-27

Brazilian breeders from Haras Avena and Haras do AP arrived in Arizona to celebrate the arrival of frozen semen from 2 of their stallions.   We met the semen and Brazilian vet Caroline Lisboa at the airport and the weekend activities began!   Hosting several dinners and also a barn tour of 4 Mangalarga Marchador barns, we all had a great time.

We will be adding these 2 stallions – Violeiro do Riomar and Carnaval Sao Lourenco – the first importation from Bahia state to the website in February.  Watch for their announcements.   Truly, they will add to the MM genetics here in North America.

Our thanks to Carlos Avena, Juliane Avena, Paulo Novoa, Ana Paula Novoa, Laura Patterson Rosa and Caroline Lisboa, who never gave up in this multi-year, international effort.   Thanks to all the SW Future Foal breeders and owners who always give their support!
